Suzanne Somers – Knockout
I just watched Suzanne Somers on the CBS’s the Early Show promoting her new book called “Knockout”. In it she explores the world of alternative and complimentary cancer treatments.
Many have dismissed Somers over the years but from what I saw she is speaking some truth. Overall the war on cancer is a miserable failure. There are many stats that say patients are living longer. However it’s not because chemotherapy is working better. It’s because many patients are getting diagnosed earlier. This does skew the stats that patients are living longer. There are certain cases where chemotherapy has improved survival rates. Avastin for colon cancer is a good example. Believe me I am not against traditional medicine at all.
She mentioned Dr. Gonzalez in NYC who has been criticized heavily by traditional doctors. Yet apparently he has produced a list of patients for Suzanne which he successfully treated.
It appears Suzanne is knowledgeable on the subject and has done her homework. She sure is passionate about it.
On a related not I am really getting sick of how the morning shows always cut the time short on their guests.
Sometimes the interviews get very compelling and yet they have to rush them off because it doesn’t fit into tidy 1:30 slots. It’s not just the serious interviews either. Sometimes there are cool excercise, cooking or product demos that get cut just as they are gathering steam. I guess we live in a sound bite world.

Suzanne’s scheduled Book Interview on the Larry King Live show Monday night at 9 PM was cancelled and replaced by Wolf Blitzer with nonsense content. The cancelled Larry King Show with Suzanne included two of the doctors from her book, Stanislaw Burzynski and Nicholas Gonzalez. Wolf says the show has been rescheduled for Friday night at 9 PM.
Why the cancellation? I suspect the networks are being pressured by the cancer establishment not to air the show. I seriously doubt the show will air at all.

Suzanne Somers’s Interview on the Larry King Live included two MD’s from her Knockout book, Stanislaw Burzynski and Nicholas Gonzalez, who cure cancer with alternative therapies. Aso included were defending cancer heavyweights Otis Brawley and Keith Black who represented chemotherapy and the cancer establishment. The lively exchange between the opposing sides could be described as a hatchet job or a cat fight depending on your point of view…
